Who? Them? What were they looking at…the trees? Not quite. Beyond the trees and through the window there was a BBQ Birthday party happening with jerk chicken and all ‘kinds’ of goodness on the grill. The living room turned dance floor was quite a scene thanks to these guys, the official inaugurators of party craziness.

By the way, I’m not a fan of posed shots (outside of the studio) but I made an exception for these pretty boys. Originally smiling and looking dead into the camera, I couldn’t submit to the ‘cheesyness’ and didn’t take the shot. In a calculated attempt to appear natural they looked away.

Maxi Priest performed at the 2008 African American Festival in Philly; getting stepped on was the least of my worries for those who’ve inquired.

I was 10 years old when this smooth singing, grown man stole my heart with tunes such as “Just a little bit longer” and “Close to you”, perhaps I should of been listening to the Hannah Montana of my day.

Maxi Priest’s music brings back uncomfortable memories of my mom confidently strutting a short, stripped, stretchy, neon green and black, mini dress before heading to someplace called the “Octagon”.

I tried it on once and was in complete shock that it fit me. This is when the art of the ‘feminine squeeze’ had dawned on me; how else could she have gotten into that dress?

Maxi during the early 90’s on youtube: “Clost to you” and “Just a bit longer“

Playing and cooling in Washington Square Park’s public fountain during the Memorial Day weekend was the right idea for this kid and many others at play.

My friend, Alex and I hopped onto the Metro North Train to Times Square, 42nd street and rode our bikes along the Hudson River down to Greenwich Village, which is where this photo was shot. When riding back to Times Square, we ‘hit the streets’ which proved to be a bit more challenging; dodging anything moving, yellow and on wheels wasn’t easy. This was my first time biking in New York City.

After waiting on line for a side order of heart attack, I barely secured a standing space at the chin-level table. It was like eating dinner on a NYC train, during rush hour with no seats, and tables high enough that I might as well dig-in with my face.
